Whitby

Whitby is a seaside town, port and civil parish in the Borough of Scarborough and English county of North Yorkshire.
The port looks decadent and I find it very fascinating for this.
The town is full of shops, coffeehouses, restaurants and seagulls.
During that day, it was also full of tourists. I actually didn’t ear anyone speaking English while walking around.

My biggest memory about Whitby is a cup of coffee, that I still keep in my old bedroom, in my parent’s home. It testifies the break that I could finally take after a long time.

The sacred cup of coffee

While in Whitby, I also visited the Whitby Museum with the kids. It is a private museum, run by the Whitby Literary and Philosophical Society, a learned society and registered charity, established in 1823. It is located in a building opened in 1931 in Pannett Park, Whitby, which also contains the Society’s Library and Archive. The museum contains a wide range of material relating to the history of Whitby, and has specialist collections relating to:
– Whitby jet;
– Captain James Cook and HM Bark Endeavour;
– Whitby’s whaling industry.

This was my last post about my stay in the North Yorkshire in 2012.
The kids sang a song during the whole trip to Whitby, speaking about the video and the “love story” between a girl and a gay guy.
I could watch it when I came back Italy only, anyway, since everybody was singing this song everyday, here is the main Sound Track of my stay in the North Yorkshire in 2012:

Song: “Call me maybe
Artist: Carly Rae Jepsen
Album: “Kiss”
Year: 2012
